Susan G Komen 3-Day for The Cure

Do you have breast cancer? Do you know someone that does? Do you know someone that knows someone that does? Hubbys Aunt has it. It's scary. What's scarier? The fact that a lot of women still don't do self mammograms or even have their annual at the doctor. Do you? Do you know how to give yourself a mammogram? Find out here.

Think you're not at risk? You could be wrong.

About 207,090 new cases of breast cancer will
be diagnosed in women in the United States in
2010. And an estimated 39,840 women will die
from breast cancer this year. Also, about 1,970
men will be diagnosed and 390 men will die of
breast cancer during 2010 in the United States

Aren't those some scary statistics?
So why am I talking about this today?
My wonderful sister-in-law Christy is participating in the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure walk in Arizona this year. She is trying to raise $2300 for this cause.

What is the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure™?

Thousands of women and men come together, each raising money for Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Then they take their commitment to end breast cancer one step further and walk 60 miles over the course of three days.

Net proceeds from the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure fund innovative global breast cancer research and local community programs supporting education, screening and treatment. Every major advance in the fight against breast cancer in the last 27 years has been impacted by a Susan G. Komen for the Cure grant.
